Q1

What's the difference between a new toner cartridge and a remanufactured one?

If you buy remanufactured cartridges from us, you won't notice any difference in print quality compared to the output of new cartridges. When we remanufacture cartridges, we replace more than half of their internal parts with new parts, reusing only those long-life components that are in good condition. Many new OEM (original equipment manufacturer) cartridges, such as Hewlett-Packard's, are also built from new and used parts.

What you will notice is a difference in price: our remanufactured cartridges cost up to 40% less than OEM cartridges. In addition, in most cases, you will receive more pages per cartridge - because all LaserSave cartridges are rebuilt as high yield cartridges. Over time, you will achieve substantial savings with remanufactured cartridges while maintaining high quality print output.

Q2

What's the difference between LaserSave's cartridges and other recycled cartridges?

At LaserSave, Inc., we remanufacture all our cartridges. Our certified technicians disassemble the cartridge, examine all parts, replace worn parts, add graphic-arts quality toner, and reassemble the cartridge.

That's why we say LaserSave doesn't just recycle, we remanufacture. Some companies may simply recycle by refilling with toner and re-using components too many times. This inferior process causes quality problems.

LaserSave cartridges, however, are guaranteed to perform 100% as well as brand new cartridges. You can review our Good Faith 100% Guarantee.

Q3

Are cartridges from LaserSave perfect?

A LaserSave cartridge, on rare occasions, will fail - just like new cartridges fail now and then. Historically, about 95-98% of all LaserSave cartridges are problem free, which is the same reliability that brand new cartridges have.

Q4

Will using a remanufactured toner cartridge void my printer's warranty?

No. According to all printer manufacturers, using a remanufactured toner cartridge will not affect coverage under the printer's warranty.

Q5

Why should we switch to remanufactured cartridges from new OEM cartridges?

Save Money: LaserSave cartridges typically cost up to 40% less than new cartridges.

Help the Environment: Using remanufactured cartridges closes the Recycling Loop. Each cartridge that is recycled saves 2.5 lbs. or more of plastic and metal from being dumped in a landfill. It conserves an average of 3 quarts of oil from being used to make a new cartridge.

Q6

What do I do with my empty/used toner cartridge?

A prepaid shipping label to return the empty cartridge will be included with each of our remanufactured cartridges. Ship either in the box that comes with our cartridge or the original cartridge's box. Place the empty inside the plastic bag, and protect it with the cardboard or foam inserts that came with the box. Foam peanuts or crumpled newspaper can be used as an alternate. Tape the box securely, and place the return shipping label on the box. Include that package with your normal UPS shipment.

If you don't have a UPS account, you can drop off the package at the nearest UPS Customer Counter or Authorized Shipping Outlet (ASO).

Q7

Why are there streaks or weak image areas in my copies?

Any cartridge, new or remanufactured, can streak if the toner inside is not evenly distributed. To fix, remove the cartridge from the printer. Rock the cartridge back and forth, then gently shake it to evenly distribute the toner powder.

Q8

What if I've tried shaking the cartridge and it doesn't help?

It's possible that the drum in the cartridge has gone bad. Our cartridges use a special extended life drum that is guaranteed against streaking. See next question.

Q9

What do I do if there's a problem while I'm using a LaserSave cartridge?

Call us at 800 529 3772 or send an E-mail to service@lasersaveinc.com. We'll work with you to troubleshoot. Most problems are quickly resolved. In fact, most problems are configuration issues not related to the operation of the machine or toner cartridge.

If the cartridge does prove to be the culprit, we'll ship a replacement ASAP. You use the same box and a prepaid shipping label to ship the problem cartridge back to us.
